On October 1, 2025, a Karambit | Crimson Web (Field-Tested) cost $1,056. By Halloween it cost $562. In the same 30 days, an XM1014 | Zombie Offensive (Field-Tested) went from $0.17 to $0.48. Same month, same spooky theme, opposite directions. A year later, both trends are still in place.
How we built the Halloween basket
We searched CSMarketCap for CS2 items with horror names and themes: webs, skulls, blood, ghosts, zombies, nightmares and hell. Then we kept the 17 items that actually trade, one wear per item, from cases and cheap rifles up to knives and gloves. A few things we did not find: there is no pumpkin, witch, vampire or coffin skin in CS2 with real trading volume. The scary corner of the market is mostly Crimson Web, skulls, blood and nightmares. For each item we used CSMarketCap's daily price history. "Today" is the latest daily point, October 25, 2026. All-time highs and recent changes come from the same item pages.
October 2025: the expensive half lost half

Almost all of the damage happened in two days. On October 23 and 24, 2025, the whole CS2 market fell from $8.63 billion to $4.81 billion, and these items fell with it. We covered that week in detail in The Biggest Trading Week in CS2 History Was Also the Crash. What stands out is the size of the fall. From October 1 to October 31, 2025, the total market cap went from $7.41 billion to $6.67 billion, minus 10%. Every knife and glove in the basket lost between 47% and 56%, roughly five times more than the market. The Moto Gloves | Blood Pressure timing is the scariest detail. They set their all-time high of $268.10 on October 22, 2025, the day before the crash. Two days later they cost $80.03, minus 70%.
The cheap end did the opposite

During the same crash, the five cheapest spooky skins in the basket all went up. The XM1014 | Zombie Offensive nearly tripled. Ticket to Hell almost doubled. These skins are not rare. Each of them trades hundreds of times a week: Ticket to Hell about 641 times, Night Terror about 676. Their prices moved with steady volume behind them.
One year later, the split is still there

The market as a whole did not recover from that October either. The total market cap was $6.67 billion on October 31, 2025 and $5.38 billion on October 25, 2026, minus 19.3%, even though it set a record of $8.71 billion in March 2026 in between. None of the knives and gloves got back to their October 1, 2025 prices. The two Crimson Web knives held roughly flat after the crash. The gloves and the Kukri lost another quarter to a third. The cheap spooky skins kept every cent they gained. All five are still above their October 1, 2025 prices, by 43% to 188%.

The Sealed Dead Hand Terminal is the deepest grave in the basket. It hit its all-time low of $0.21 on October 22, 2026, just four days ago, and is down 71% in 90 days. Yet it still sells about 16,540 times a week. A dead chart does not mean dead demand.
What this means if you are buying this Halloween
A spooky name does not move the price. In the same month, items with the same theme went from -56% to +182%. Price tier and liquidity mattered, not the theme.
Expensive items can halve in two days. Every knife and glove in the basket lost most of its October 2025 value between October 22 and 24.
Cheap items with steady volume held up best. The five cheapest skins gained during the crash and kept those gains for a year.
Check the all-time high and the 90-day trend before you buy. Three items in the basket are more than 90% below their peaks.
