What is a Steam ID?

A Steam ID is the unique identifier Steam assigns to every account. It stays the same no matter how often you change your nickname or custom URL, which is why games, community servers and third-party tools rely on it to recognise you. The same account can be written in several different ID formats — they all point to one and the same profile.

Steam IDs come in several formats:

  • SteamID64 A 17-digit number such as 76561197960265728. The most widely used format across Steam and APIs.
  • SteamID (Legacy) The classic STEAM_0:0:12345678 form, still seen in older servers and configs.
  • SteamID3 Written as [U:1:24691356], common in Source engine games and Valve APIs.
  • SteamID32 (Account ID) The raw account number derived from the SteamID64.
  • Steam Hex ID The hexadecimal version of the SteamID64, used for whitelists and modded servers.

How do I find my Steam ID?

The quickest way is to paste anything that identifies the account into the field above — a full profile link, a custom (vanity) URL, or any existing ID format. The tool resolves it and returns every format at once, with a one-click copy button for each.

You can also find it manually from your Steam profile:

  • Open Steam and click your name in the top-right corner, then choose “View my profile”.
  • Look at the address bar — it shows either a 17-digit SteamID64 or your custom URL.
  • If it is a custom URL, paste it above and the tool will convert it to the numeric ID.

What is a Steam Hex ID?

The Steam Hex ID is simply the SteamID64 expressed in hexadecimal. It is frequently required by modded game servers, whitelisting systems and configuration files where a compact base-16 identifier is expected. It is included automatically in the results above, so there is no need to convert it by hand.

Accessing a profile with different IDs

  • SteamID64 — open it directly at https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/<id>.
  • Custom URL — access a vanity profile via https://steamcommunity.com/id/<name>.

No login or personal data is required to use this tool — it only converts public identifiers and reads publicly available profile information.

Yes, as long as you have their profile URL, custom (vanity) name, or any existing ID format. The tool resolves it to every other format.

By default your SteamID is public, but you can restrict what is visible on your profile through Steam privacy settings. The numeric ID itself remains a permanent identifier.
