Classic Knife | Fade was added to the game on October 18, 2019, as part of the CS20 Case, which was released alongside the "Cache and Release" update.

The blade of the knife is chromed and coated with translucent paints creating a gradient. The pattern is made in various shades of purple, pink and yellow. The color ratio depends on the pattern index. The guard and the handle remain unpainted.

Float Value of the skin ranges from 0.00 to 0.08, which makes Classic Knife | Fade available only in Factory New and Minimal Wear condition. At levels of wear close to the maximum, the knife has small scratches and abrasions located on the spine and along the cutting edge.

The quality of Classic Knife | Fade is Covert. The skin has a StatTrak option and belongs to the "Fade" series.

The skin became very popular after the release and remains in demand today.

The pattern index affects the color ratio of the skin. Knives with a maximum amount of purple on the blade (“100% Fade” or “Full Fade”) are considered to be the most valuable pattern variations. The less valuable pattern variations where the amount of purple decreases are titled “99% Fade” (or “fake Full Fade”) and “98% Fade”.
